PURPOSE: To use a soil boring machine even in a narrow place by providing a grip body consisting of two shell bodies arranging expansion and contraction cylinders to them, an adjoining drive mechanism, a boring tool and the expansion and contraction cylinders for holding the boring tool between both of them.

CONSTITUTION: A tripod 1 is erected in a site to be bored to hang down a structural body 3 of a boring machine by a cable 2, and the cable 2 is made to pass through an idle pulley 4 on the top of the tripod 1 and is led to a reel 5. A cylindrical grip body 6 of the structural body 3 is formed of two semi-circular shell bodies, and a space wherein two air pressure cylinders or a hydraulic cylinder 9 are arranged is formed between the shell bodies. Then, a piston bar 11 for two cylinders is fixed to one of the shell bodies, and an auger 13 is driven through an driving shaft 12 of a motor 10. By the constitution, boring can be made even in a narrow place.
