To excavate and discharge soil in a shaft, by rotating a screw conveyor fitting an excavation cutter at the lower end, together with a casing, when constructing the shaft by pressing in with rotation the casing having an excavation cutter fitted at the lower end.
In the construction of a starting shaft or an arrival shaft for installation of sewage pipes or a manhole, a casing C in which an excavation cutter S is fixed to the lower end edge is pressed in with rotation by a shaft- construction machine and the subsequent casings C are connected in sequence. A guide plate 1 is detachably laid at the upper end edge of this casing C and a screw conveyor 2 is inserted in the guide hole 1a to be vertically and horizontally transferable and suspended by a hook 7 of a crane. In this way, the screw conveyor 2 is horizontally transferred along the guide hole 1a while rotating together with the easing C and the excavating cutter 4b is rotated by a motor 6 to excavate the soil G in the shaft and discharge it from the discharge opening 5b to the outside. Accordingly, the soil G in the shaft can be excavated and discharged to the outside while the casing C is rotated and driven in.
