Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soil improvement for preventing liquefaction by using slag obtd. by melting incineration ash of municipal waste and by mixing the slag with hard burnt lime and cement.
SOLUTION: This material is obtd. by melting incineration ash of municipal waste with a vertical furnace, an electric furnace, etc., quenching with water or slowly cooling the melt to give slag (ash slag) pref. having a particle size of 0.1-2.5mm, and mixing the slag with hard burnt lime and cement. The hard burnt lime used is the which is produced by baking limestone ore at 1,200-1,500°C and comprises relatively coarse particles with particle sizes of 2mm or higher, pref. 5mm or higher. This material is pref. deposited in a shape of post into the ground. This method enables the use of incineration ash of municipal waste in a large amt., and the material is useful as a substitute for sand, smashed rocks, etc.
