To provide a soil layer survey device for measuring the soil layer further accurately, a control device and a control method for the soil layer survey device, and a soil layer survey method.SOLUTION: A soil layer survey device 1 has a control device 50 comprising a work member 11 that excavates the soil layer, a torque generating unit 13 that rotates the work member 11, a thrust generating unit 14 that gives thrust to the work member 11, a rotation control unit that controls the rotation speed of the work member 11 by the torque generating unit 13 to a target rotation speed, a propulsion control unit that controls the thrust of the work member 11 by the thrust generating unit 14 to a target thrust, and a measurement result acquisition unit that acquires information on the reaction force input from the soil layer to the work member 11 that is rotated at the target rotation speed and is propelled by the target thrust.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
