Title:
SOIL MODIFYING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005232285
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a soil modifying material capable of detoxifying soil contaminated with toxic organic compounds, especially highly volatile organic compounds and containing much water, and simultaneously, enhancing the mechanical strengths of the soil, thus enabling the soil to be made reusable.

This soil modifying material comprises plaster of Paris and a metal such as iron in a weight ratio of (0.1:1) to (200:1). The soil modifying material is high in the ability to decompose organic compounds by the metal and capable of imparting treated soil with mechanical strengths suitable for its reuse, therefore being useful for soil contaminated with organic compounds and containing much water.
