In this method for surveying soil polluted by a volatile pollutant such as a volatile organic material or oil, while drilling a boring hole 16 by using this drilling tool 1 having a suction hole on the tip part and a passage formed inside and communicated with the suction hole, the underground fluid such as the underground air is sucked from the suction hole, and sucked and collected through the passage to the ground. Then, the pollutant included in the collected underground fluid is analyzed in parallel with drilling and its concentration is measured, and a depth distribution of the soil pollution state is grasped from the depth of the boring hole and the pollutant concentration.
