To provide a new soil remediation method whereby the contaminant can be easily removed from soil contaminated by a contaminant such as a heavy metal.

In this soil remediation method, a contaminated soil containing a heavy metal, etc., is gathered by excavation and charged into a soil remediation apparatus 4 wherein to be separated into upper and lower layers in water by the difference in sedimentation speed due to the difference in specific gravity. The heavy metal, etc., contained in the soil and having a larger specific gravity sediment at the lower side, and earth and sand sediment at the upper side. The earth and sand is taken out of the soil remediation apparatus 4 to be used for backfilling.
