Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a novel compound, (2Z)-solanesol which can be used as an intermediate of medicines or as a hypotensor, an anti-hyperlipemia or antitumor agent, as it is.
CONSTITUTION: (2Z)-Solanesol oh formula I. The compound of formula I is obtained by epoxidizing the double bond in the 2-position of the solanesol of formula II to give a compound of formula III, protecting the hydroxyls to give a compound of formula IV, bringing the product into contact with a base, treating it with an alkyl halide to give a compound of formula V and deprotecting the compound.
