Abstract:

PURPOSE: To faciliate the transmission of solar energy to predetermined place and improve utilizing efficiency of the solar rays, by transferring solar rays to a photothermic converter via optical fiber cable and by providing the solar beam tracking device.

CONSTITUTION: A light condensing unit 3 comprises a large number of condensers 4 mounted on the front side of a box 5, optical fiber cables 6 with their incident ends 7 fixed at the focus points of the condensers, and a optical fiber cable 10 which is the bundled end of each fibers. A light collecting unit 2 is made of a large number of condensing units 3 and supported, vertically and horizontaly swingable, by a coupler 11. Servomotors are connected to the vertical axis 11a and horizontal axis 11b of the coupler 11 respectively. A signal from a solar beam direction detector mounted on the front of the condenser 2 drives servomotors via a swing controller 12, directing the condenser 2 toward the sun S. 20 is a photothermic converter unit and 22 is a heat accumulator.
