To provide soles 1 which are light in weight and are nevertheless excellent in strength and durability and shoes using the same.

The soles 1 consist of crosslinked rubber moldings. The shoes 1 contain small-diameter carbon black of 10 to 40 nm in particle diameter. The compounding ratio of the small-diameter carbon black is 10 to 40 parts per 100 parts base material rubber. The soles 1 do not contain a softener at all or even when the soles contain the softener, the compounding ratio thereof is as small as ≤3 parts per 100 parts base material rubber. The soles 1 do not contain air bubbles. The sp.gr. of the soles 1 is 0.900 to 1.10.
