Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid catalyst component for olefin polymn. which can produce a highly stereoregular olefin polymer in a high yield by forming the component from a titanium compd. and a solid carrier component comprising a magnesium compd. having a group substd. by an electron-donating compd.
SOLUTION: This catalyst component comprises a titanium compd. and a solid carrier component prepd. by substituting a part of monoether compd. residues (E) of a solid substance represented by formula I (wherein X is halogen; E is a monoether compd. residue; and n is 0.01-4) with an electron-donating compd. other than a monoether compd. Residue E is represented by formula II or III (wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each a hydrocarbon group). Examples of the electron-donating compd. are a compd. having a carbonyl, alkoxy, or amino group and a compd. represented by formula IV (wherein R10 to R13 are each a hydrocarbon group optionally having a hetero atom, or R10 and R11 are each H). The carrier component is obtd. by reacting MgX2 with a monoether compd. to give a solid substance represented by formula I in an inert medium which does not dissolve the substance, and then treating it with the electron-donating compd. The carrier component is brought into contact with the titanium compd. to give this catalyst component.
