A solid fuel burner includes: a fuel nozzle which injects the mixture fluid of a solid fuel and a carrier gas; at least one combustion gas injection nozzle which is disposed outside the fuel nozzle and injects oxygen-containing gas; and at least two oxygen-containing gas addition nozzles which inject oxygen-containing gas having a velocity component in the circumferential direction of the fuel nozzle and are disposed to protrude in the fuel nozzle. An obstacle acting as a resistor against the flow of the mixture fluid flowing in the fuel nozzle is disposed downstream of the oxygen-containing gas addition nozzles in the fuel nozzle and between the oxygen-containing gas addition nozzles in the circumferential direction.
