Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase high temperature lubricating characteristics of the titled solid lubricant which includes double salts consisting of specific components such as NaCl and MgCl2, melts at high temperature and wets the lubricating surface to be able to be spread dispersedly.

CONSTITUTION: The titled lubricant should include a double salt having the components consisting of at least more than one salt selected from the group consisting of 90W20% NaCl, 3W35% MgCl2, 5W25% KCl, and 1W20% CaCl, by wt%. Since the lubricant has a low melting point instead of sodium chloride and, in addition, has high temperature lubricating characteristics, the oxide film on the surface of tools is not damaged. The lubricant obtained by adding 30W70% graphite powder decreases 20% of thrust load such as rolling load which applies especially to plugs as the result when the lublicating characteristics are measured by the rolling mill for plug mill test.
