PURPOSE: To obtain the solid preparation containing a cycloheptenopyridine derivative having a proton pump-inhibiting action and useful as an antiulcer agent as an active ingredient, excellent in productivity and good in storage stability on the aspects of both the content and the appearance.
CONSTITUTION: The solid preparation is prepared by compounding a compound of the formula (R is H, lower alkyl; R1 is H, lower alkyl capable of being substituted; R2 is H, halogen) or its salt, e.g. 9-(benzimidazol-2-yl)sulfinyl-4- methoxy-2,3-cycloheptenopyridine with magnesium oxide as a stabilizer, spray- dried lactose, granulated lactose, anhydrous lactose, calcium hydrogen phosphate or anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate as an excipient, and a starch derivative, preferably partially α-starch-containing starch or hydroxypropyl starch as a disintegrating agent, and subsequently granulating the mixture without using a granulation solvent. The stabilizer is preferably used in an amount of 0.3-3 pts.wt., especially 0.5-1,5 pts.wt., per pt. wt. of the compound of the formula, and the disintegrating agent is preferably used in an amount of 5-30%, especially 10-20%, based on the whole weight of the preparation.
