PURPOSE: To prevent mixture of a color component into a luminace signal and generation of an ignition noise by allowing a component containing only the luminance signal to reside on each horizontal scanning line without fail.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st and 2nd color filters 8 and 9 are so constituted that a column of luminance-signal filter components 10 and a column of color-signal filter components 11 are alternately arranged in the vertical directions of pickup surfaces of the 1st and 2nd solid-pickup bodies 7A and 7B on each horizontal scanning lines equivalent to a picture element and array orders are fixed with patterns alternated between pickup bodies 7A and 7B. The position relation between subject images of pickup bodies 7A and 7B is selected with a spatial and horizontal shift of an approximate 1/2 picture-element pitch and pickup outputs obtained by pickup bodies 7A and 7B are sequentially read out being given a phase difference of 180°.
