Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the resolution by providing an optical axis deflecting means consisting of two wedge-shaped prisms, whose vertical angles are approximately equal to each other, in a camera using a solid-state image pickup element.
CONSTITUTION: An optical axis deflecting means 40 consisting of two wedge- shaped prisms which are rotated around the optical axis in opposite directions by the same extent and have approximately equal vertical angles is provided on the optical axis of image pickup to realize a space picture element shifting method. Consequently, wedge-shaped prisms are rotated by zoom magnification information to improve the revolution of the picked-up output signal similarly to an image pickup lens having a peculiar focus.
