Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a current consumption by connecting a reference voltage generating circuit to a power supply only when brightness discrimination is required. CONSTITUTION:A brightness monitor means 9 monitors a radiated luminous quantity to a photoelectric conversion section PD, generates an electric charge in response to the luminous quantity and the generated electric charge is stored in a storage means 10-1. An output means 10-2 outputs a signal in response to the quantity of the stored electric charge to a brightness discrimination means, which compares an output of a reference voltage generating circuit and an output from the output means 10-2 to discriminate the brightness. An integration time control section receives a signal representing the brightness from the brightness discrimination means to control the integration time in the storage section storing the electric charge from the photoelectric conversion section PD. On the other hand, the switch is turned off in the readout by the solid-state image pickup device to interrupt tile power supply to the reference voltage generating circuit. Thus, the current consumption is reduced.
