PURPOSE: To provide a solid-state image pickup device in which the output of a pixel is tentatively stored, read sequentially to prevent the production of shading.
CONSTITUTION: This solid-state image pickup device is constituted of a vertical scanning circuit 2 to select vertical selection lines 4-1 to 4-4 in common connection to a picture element array in the horizontal direction of pixel 1 in 2-dimensional matrix, a horizontal scanning circuit 3 selecting any of horizontal selection switches 7-1 to 7-4 to read a selected charge at a signal output line 10, vertical signal lines 5-1 to 5-4 in common connection to a picture element array in the vertical direction, 1st and 2nd selector switches 14-1 to 14-4, 15-1 to 15-4 connected to the vertical signal lines, reset transistors(TRs) 8-1 to 8-4, 3rd and 4th selector switches 18-1 to 18-4, 3rd and 4th selector switches 18-1 to 18-4, 19-1 to 19-4 connected in series with the 1st and 2nd selector switches and in common connection to the horizontal selector switches, and 1st and 2nd storage means 16-1 to 16-4, 17-1 to 18-4 in parallel connection with the 1st and 3rd selector switches and the 2nd and 4th selector switches.
