PURPOSE: To enable a solid state laser system to stably control alteration for emitting green colored beams making a low noise without being affected by the change in the anisotropy of a solid state laser medium by a method wherein the title solid state laser system is provided with a detecting means of the ripple compound in the output light intensity of basic laser beams for controlling the azimuth of a 1/4 wavelength plate using the ripple component as an error signal.
CONSTITUTION: A dichroic mirror 8 is arranged on an optical path of output beams to pick up the basic laser beams only for detecting the beams by a photodiode 10 through an altered beam splitter 9. Next, signals are processed by an electric circuit 11 to pick up the ripple component only. Next, a motor adjusting the azimuth of a 1/4 wavelength plate 7 is controlled to make the ripple signals constantly nil. Through these procedures, the alteration can be stably controlled thereby enabling the green colored beams to be emitted making a low noise without being affected by the change in the anisotropy of a solid state laser medium.
