Abstract:
To remove soot from oil used for lubricating an internal combustion engine.
The system controls operation of a filter 16 for removing soot from oil. The system determines whether or not removal of soot from oil is necessary and whether or not an operating condition is suitable for removing soot. A variable flow rate pump 15 is used to enable a flow rate or pressure to be set at a level most suitable for soot removal.
