Abstract:

PURPOSE: To double the sorting capability without incresing the number of stages of trays by providing a push rod on the rear side of each tray to move the sorted sheets on the trays toward the sheet outlet where it is to be taken out.

CONSTITUTION: On the rear side of each tray 6 is formed an arc-shaped slit 6a, through which a push rod 7 is inserted vertically. The push rod 7 is allowed to move along the slit 6a to the front and back of the tray 6. A energizing means 8 which energizes the push rod 7 toward the back of the tray 6 and a pulling means 9 are fixed to the upper end of the push rod 7. The other end of the pulling means 9 passes over a pulley 10 mounted to the tray 6 on the side where the sheet is to be taken out and then tied around a pulley 11b mounted on the rotating shaft 11a of a discharge motor 11. The push rod 7 is actuated by the incoming copying completed signal and the sorting completed signal to move the sheet 4 toward the sheet outlet where it is to be taken out.
