PURPOSE: To accurately separate and sort particles, by constituting a frictionally electrifying part with a cylindrical vessel wall for charging large-size particles with electricity and a core therein for charging small-size particles with electricity, and forming a turning stream composed of the particles and gas therein.

CONSTITUTION: Impalpable particles fluidized by proper gas such as air or noncombustible gas is supplied through a supply pipe 21 into a cylindrical vessel 23, to form a turning stream inside the vessel 23. The particles are moved toward the wall of the cylindrical vessel 23 by the centrifugal force of the turning stream of the gas and separated from the gas flowing out through an outflow pipe 22. Among the particles moved toward the vessel wall, a part having a relatively larger particle size is spirally advanced by the turning stream, brought into contact with the vessel wall surface and charged with electricity by the friction. On the other hand, a part having a smaller particle size, which can not arrive at the vessel wall surface, among the particles moved toward the vessel wall is spirally advanced inside a core 24 while being brought in contact with the core and charged with electricity by the contact.
