The sorting device 1 including a transfer device comprising a transfer passage 4a for transferring a product W in a specified direction Y, and a sorter 6 that comprises an arm member 6a disposed turnable on a rotary shaft 8 attached to its base-end 7 so as to allow its front end 9 to cross the transfer passage 4a in the width direction thereof and moves from a waiting position A allowing a product W to pass through, to a sorting position B intercepting the product W, by virtue of the arm member 6a turning on the rotary shaft 8, to discharge the product W to outside in the width direction of the transfer passage 4a when it is on the sorting position B, is characterized in that the sorter 6 includes a discharge position C to be reached by the arm member 6a turning on the rotary shaft 8 to the outside of the waiting position A in the width direction of the transfer passage 4a, and moves from the discharge position C to the waiting position A subsequent to moving from the sorting position B to the discharge position C.
