To provide a new sound-absorbing thermal insulation material having flame retardancy, excellent in dew condensation proofness and slight in environmental burden as well, and also preferably usable as an automotive ceiling material, living material, house construction material, etc.
The sound-absorbing thermal insulation material comprises a nonwoven fabric containing 1-50 mass% of a flame retardant, with bamboo fibers thermobonded via thermoadhesive fibers. This sound-absorbing thermal insulation material is 90% or greater in elastic recovery percentage after subjected to 70% compression, and 0.07 W/mK in thermal conductivity. In this sound-absorbing thermal insulation material, the thermoadhesive fiber to be used is preferably a fiber composed of one or more polymers selected from the group consisting of polyester, polyolefin and polylactic acid.
