Title:
SOUND IMAGE LOCATING SIGNAL CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54109402
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To convert signals having no locating information into signals having locating information resembling the actual sound field by converting the former signals into signals for generating direct and indirect sounds.

CONSTITUTION: the signals coming from an input terminal 1 and having no locating information are subjected to impedance conversion and are then fed to a sound image locating device 3 and an indirect sound generating device 4. The device 3 converts the signals having no locating information into the binoral signals for locating the sound image in a preset position and then feeds the resultant binormal signals to a composing circuit 5. On the other hand, the device 4 delays for a preset time the signals having no locating information and imparts desired frequency characteristics so that the signals are fed to the composing circuit 5, where they are composed with the binoral signals generated by the device 3. Thus, the composed signals are generated from an output terminal 9 to a speaker or headphone.
