Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a sound information compression method in which a 3-dimension or over up to n-dimension correlation map storing representative sound values used to classify and approximate input sound information is used to classify and code the input sound information in high-dimension in a short time in an excellent way and the information reproduction device with simple configuration at a low cost reading sound code information from a memory storing the sound code information coded by the sound information compression method and reproducing the information.

CONSTITUTION: A sound information reproduction device 20 stores code book data obtained through application of an n-dimension correlation map in a memory 21, an address reference expansion execution section 23 in a control section 22 transfers code book data to a data read changeover section 24 from an address of the memory 21 corresponding to index data inputted from the data read changeover section 24. After the data read changeover section 24 stores the transferred code book data tentatively in a buffer 25, a D/A converter 26 converts the data into an analog signal and outputs it to an amplifier section 27, the amplifier section 27 amplifies the analog signal to drive a speaker or the like.
