Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sound absorbing power by forming a foam urethane layer fixed to a platelike rigid member of foam having specific water absorbing ratio and obtained by reacting polyolefin polyol having specific skeleton with mixture containing water as foaming agent and organic polyisocyanate.
SOLUTION: The sound insulating cover prevents leakage of noise generated in an engine room of a truck, and comprises a rigid member 1 having a platelike base part 11, and a foam urethane layer 2 fixed to a base 11 of the member 1. The layer 2 is formed of foam obtained by reacting polyolefin polyol having saturated hydrocarbon resin skeleton with mixture containing water as foaming agent and organic polyisocyanate. Since the foam is hydrophobic due to the polyolefin polyol, its water absorbing capacity is small, and the water absorbing capacity of the foam generated here is preferably 10% or less.
