Abstract:

PURPOSE: To protect an equipment highly sensitive to electromagnetic wave from the electromagnetic wave, thereby promoting the reduction in size and weight of a spacecraft equipped with the equipment by arranging an electromagnetic shield consisting of a conductive composite fiber near an antenna for transmitting and receiving the electromagnetic wave.

CONSTITUTION: A solar battery panel 2 as a power source and a communication or broadcasting antenna 3 are set on an artificial satellite 1 as a spacecraft. The electromagnetic wave emitted from a feed horn 4 is emitted in a prescribed direction through the antenna 3. In this case, the artificial satellite 1 is loaded with an equipment 5 highly sensitive to electromagnetic wave. The equipment 5 is protected from the electromagnetic wave emitted from the feed horn 4 by an electromagnetic shield 6 consisting of a conductive composite fiber. Further, the electromagnetic shield 6 is constituted by fixing a cloth consisting of the conductive composite fiber using an acrylonitrile-copper sulfide composite to a fixed frame consisting of a fiber bar, and arranged 1/4 ahead of the electromagnetic wave from the equipment 5.
