Abstract:

To provide spacers for a liquid crystal display element, which are associated with no fear of developing a short circuit, and which can be used in an ODF method without any problem.

The spacers for the liquid crystal display element are used for adjusting a cell gap of the liquid crystal display element, have nearly cylindrical shapes, and are characterized by having lengths 1.5 times as long as their diameters or longer and less than 30 μm with respect to all of the spacers.
