PURPOSE: To obtain a spacer excellent in low temperature brittleness resistance, rigidity, chemical resistance, and molding processability, and capable of making optical fiber diameter small and optical fiber density high.
CONSTITUTION: This spacer is made of 85 to 98wt.% of a mixture consisting of (1) a poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.0 or higher, measured in a 50:50 mixed solvent of phenol and tetrachloroethane at 30°C and a terminal carboxyl group content of 30μeq/g or less and (2) an aromatic polycarbonate resin, at a weight ratio of (90:10) to (60:40), and 2 to 15wt.% of a multilayer polyacrylic ester resin having a core-shell structure consisting of a component in an initial stage of rubber state and a second component in the final stage of rigid state.
