Abstract:

To prevent performances of a recognition rate and a recognition response time from deteriorating and also to improve a user interface of a car navigation system even if vocabulary recognizable in speech is increased in the number as a whole system, in a speech recognition system used for a car navigation system, etc.

This system collects words and sentences for speech recognition and defines them as dictionaries 104, 105, and picks up those words and sentences as a result of speech recognition. In this case, this system is provided with a plurality of dictionaries 104, 105, and one of the plural dictionaries 104, 105 is selected by a dictionary change-over part 103, and speech recognition is executed by referring to it. A distance up to a destination, time, route, etc., are displayed on a map by using a result of the speech recognition in a car navigation system.
