PURPOSE: To shorten the recognition time of the speech recognizing device, which controls equipment by recognizing a speech, by decreasing the quantity of talk-back processing wherein a recognized speech is sent back to the speaker and recognized.
CONSTITUTION: The speech recognizing device 220 which compares an input speech with plural previously registered words and reproduces and outputs words back to the speaker in order from the most similar word by talk-back processing to judge whether or not the words match the input speech is provided with a recognition distance decision part 13 which decides whether or not a recognition distance showing that the input speech is similar to a registered word when the distance is less than a specific value and a candidate output part 14 which talks back only registered words less in recognition distance than the specific value.
