Abstract:
PURPOSE: To vary the reproduction time of a speech with small discontinuity of a waveform without causing omission of data frequently.
CONSTITUTION: On the basis of a signal A with prescribed time length Ts and a signal B with time length Ts following it, correlation functions are calculated (step 103) at ahead of and behind position, the position rk where a maximum correlation function is obtained is obtained and data near the signals A and B are weighted and added (step 104) with the width of a constant time length Ts at the position determined on the basis of the time delay rk. Then the signal following the weighting and addition section is outputted until prescribed time length determined by a companding ratio α and the time delay rk is reached. Then the starting data of the signal A is re-set to a position which is delayed by a prescribed value and all processing are repeated to perform speed conversion so that the speed ratio is ≥×1.0 or ≤×1.0.
