PURPOSE: To obtain a speech timepiece which annunicates time only by touching its external surface by arranging the sensor of a switch which starts time annunciation in a planar shape on the external surface of the timepiece.

CONSTITUTION: The switch 7 which starts a speech unit 8 for changing the time output of the electronic timepiece into a voice is turned on by pressing the key top 5 of the switch arranged spherically on the external surface of the timepiece. The output of the speech unit 8 annunciates the time of the timepiece with a voice from a speaker 9. The switch 7, an alarm time setting switch 12, a lamp 13 for indicating the operation state of the timepiece, rubber suckers 14, etc., are mounted on a substrate 10, whose periphery is fitted in the key top 5, so the switch 7 is turned on by pressing any part of the key top 5. Therefore, the time is known in a voice only by touching the external surface of the timepiece with a hand.
