Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve durability of the equipment for the reverse stage prohibition control and secure the control.
CONSTITUTION: A speed change controller for an automatic transmission which is constituted so that a detent mechanism 3A for selectively suppressing the shift of a shift lever 1A to a reverse range position is installed on a shift operating device 2A is further equipped with a reverse stage prohibition judging device 4A for judging the traveling state where the reverse stage is to be prohibited and a shift operation detecting means 5A for detecting that the shift lever 1A deflects from the advance range position. Further, the speed change controller is equipped with a reverse stage prohibition instructing means 6A which operates the detent mechanism 3A so as to suppress the shift of the shift lever 1A to the reverse stage position when it is judged that the traveling state is in the state for prohibiting the reverse stage and the shift lever 1A deflects from the advance range position.
