To provide a speed control method for an automatic opening/closing sliding door gate, which prevents a person from feeling stressed due to time for opening/closing of a doorway and can adequately ensure safety.
This automatic opening/closing sliding door gate is equipped with the doorway 1 which is installed on the premises of a building, a driving wheel 8 which is rollable along the opening/closing direction of the doorway 1, and a motor 9 for driving the driving wheel 8; start and termination ends of movement of the gate are made to serve as a low-speed range; an intermediate part between the start and termination ends is made to serve as a high-speed area; and a speed of an opening/closing door is decreased in the low-speed area and increased in the high-speed area.
