Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed reducer of an eddy-current type of a low cost excellent in durability having no fear of the occurrence of cracks at a cylinder section and a side plate of a rotor even if used under severe conditions for a long time.
SOLUTION: In the speed reducer of an eddy-current type that reduces the speed of a rotating cylinder section by a magnetic field, the cylinder section 5 has a hole at its center and is combined to a rotating shaft 1 by the bent and disc-shaped side plate 14. The reducer has a cross section that satisfies the cylinder section 5 and the side plate 14 with the following formulae. Also, the magnetic field in the above is preferably generated by a permanent magnet. L/W≥0.15...(1) t2/t1=0.25 to 1.25...(2) L/t2≥3.0...(3) Here, L is the quantity of bending and means a distance (mm) from an end face of the cylinder section to the center of the thickness of the maximum bent part, W is the length (mm) of the cylinder section, t1 is the thickness (mm) of the cylinder section and t2 is the thickness (mm) of the side plate.
