Abstract:
This spherical machining apparatus is provided with: a main shaft device for rotating a workpiece centered on the main shaft axis; a rotating table device for rotating a rotating table centered on the table axis; a tool-exchanging mechanism that rotates together with the rotating table; and a first tool and second tool that are installed on the tool-exchanging mechanism and machine the workpiece in a spherical shape. The tool-exchanging mechanism is configured so as to be able to switch between a first tool selection position in which the first tool is close to and contacts the workpiece and the second tool is at a distance and is separated from the workpiece, and a second tool selection position in which the second tool is close to and contacts the workpiece and the first tool is at a distance and is separated from the workpiece. The rotating table device causes the first tool to spherically machine the workpiece by rotating the first tool in the first tool selection position and causes the second tool to spherically machine the workpiece by rotating the second tool in the second tool selection position.
