Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle unit that is able to impart a high speed to a rotor even by means of a little flow rate of pressurized fluid as well to sufficiently secure the extent of rigidity in a rotor to any external force, aside from being extremely simple in terms of structure.
SOLUTION: This spindle unit consists of a fixed shaft 1, a cylindrical rotor 4 being fitted in this fixed shaft 1 with some play in keeping a specified bearing clearance, and constituting a radial dynamic pressure bearing in a gap with the fixed shaft 1, and a pair of thrust plates 6 and 6 being installed in keeping the specified bearing clearance with both ends of this rotor 4, and constituting a trust dynamic bearing in a gap with the rotor 4. In this constitution, a turbine 11 spraying a pressurized fluid over a range from the inner diameter to the outer diameter is built in this rotor 4, and this pressurized fluid is blown into this turbine 11 through the fixed shaft 1, while the radial dynamic pressure bearing is formed into a pump-in type that thrusts a lubricating fluid in the bearing clearance toward the turbine 11.
