PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent galling of a spindle shaft by configuring so that an exposed surface of the spindle shaft from a casing can be cleaned.SOLUTION: A spindle unit includes: a spindle shaft (44) in which a mount (45) designed to receive a grinding wheel (46) is coupled to a front end side of the spindle shaft; a casing (43) to support the spindle shaft through air in a state in which the front end side of the spindle shaft is protruded; and a spindle cover (60) having a two-division structure that surrounds an outer side surface of the spindle shaft exposed from between the casing and the mount by interposing a gap between the outer side surface and the spindle cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
