Abstract:
The fibre preparation machine, especially for carding or cleaning prior to spinning, has a casing enclosing the machine (15) as well as the fibre feed and output systems. It incorporates an electronic image recording system (video camera) (18) to observe the textile fibres and/or part of the machinery (1, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4, 5, 6, 14, 16), delivering signals to an image processor or flat monitor screen situated outside the casing, and at the same time enabling the images to be stored. The casing is in the form of a box that is partly or entirely enclosed, and the video camera can be located in any part of it, e.g. fibre feed, needle roller, carding cylinder, or waste separator, and have an associated light source for observing a process. Variants can have more than one camera, with light sources of different colors.
