To provide a spiral plied yarn of improved self-discharge efficiency and cord or the like of the same yarn, showing greatly improved antistatic effect in spite of lowered electroconductive fiber content than that of the conventional product to reduce raw material cost.
This spiral plied yarn 3 is composed of a piled yarn 1 as the core, made of an adequate number of first-twisted synthetic fibers (e.g. acrylic, polyester or nylon fibers), around which the so-called electroconductive fiber 2 (e.g. organic electroconductive fiber with an electroconductive material, e.g. stainless steel fiber, metal vapor deposited fiber, copper sulfide or carbon black, dispersed in, e.g. an acrylic, polyester or polyamide fiber) is spirally wound. The spiral plied yarn 3 can be used for a cord, braid or fabric of improved self-discharge capacity.
