To provide a splashed pattern woven fabric and a method for weaving the fabric by using a pattern yarn having a color different from a ground warp and a ground weft and developing a splashed pattern on the surface by properly selecting the weaving method.

The splashed pattern woven fabric K1 is woven with a ground warp 1 and a ground weft 2 having a color same as the warp and a pattern warp 3 having a color different from that of the ground warp 1 and the ground weft 2. The woven fabric K1 has a structure comprising four pattern warps 3 woven along the ground warp 1 adjacent to each other in superposed state at a prescribed part of the ground warp 1 and the ground weft 2 woven by plain weave to form a single woven part A woven exclusively with the ground warp 1 and the ground weft 2 and a superposed woven part B woven with the pattern warp 3 together with the ground warp and weft. The pattern warp 3 constituting the superposed woven part B is exposed to the surface or hidden in the texture by the selection of the weaving method to form a splashed pattern on the surface.
