To provide a splicer for optical fibers which facilitates re-splicing work and makes detachable splicing or permanent splicing freely selectable.
The splicer for optical fibers is characterized by comprising a base part 1 provided with a V-groove in the central part where the splice ends of the optical fibers F are abutted to each other and provided on both end parts thereof with slide rails 13 prolonged in the same direction as the V-groove arrangement, adaptors 3 which hold the optical fibers F and are slid onto slide rails 12 of the base part 1, a pressure plate 5 which is supported by the base part 1 and presses the splice ends of the optical fibers F into the V-groove, and levers 6, 7 which are supported by the base part 1 and press the pressure plate 5 by turning and also lock the adaptors 3 to the base part 1.
