Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially prevent the occurrence of cracking and chipping at use, etc., by forming the slit inside surface of a split sleeve in the form of a as-calcined surface and making the thickness of a part opposite to the slit larger than the thickness of the other parts.
SOLUTION: A cylindrical body 10' having a groove 11' in an axial direction opened only on the inner peripheral surface side is molded by using a ceramic raw material, such as zirconia. This groove 11' is connected at the outer peripheral surface by a connecting part 14. After the molding is calcined, the molding is subjected to grinding of its inner peripheral surface to a prescribed size value. The grinding of the outer peripheral surface is executed until the connecting part 14 is removed, by which the shape of the split sleeve 10 having the slit 11 is formed. The inside surface 11a of the slit 11 is the as-calcined surface not subjected to the grinding after the calcination. The thickness X of the part 13 facing the slit 11 of the split sleeve 10 is larger than the thickness Y of, for example, the part near the slit.
