Abstract:
A process for the production of divided filament nonwoven fabric, characterized by ejecting a polyester (A) and a polyolefin (B) which have melting points different from each other by less than 30°C through a spinneret having conjugated spinning nozzles in such a way that the polyester (A) and the polyolefin (B) come into contact with each other to form conjugated filaments, cooling the conjugated filaments with a cooling fluid while applying a tension to the filaments by the use of the cooling fluid or other fluid to make them finer, laying the resulting filaments on a collection belt to form a nonwoven fabric, and dividing the conjugated filaments into parts of the polyester (A) and parts of the polyolefin (B) by the use of a high-pressure liquid flow; divided filament nonwoven fabrics obtained by the process; and uses thereof. The invention provides a process for the production of divided filament nonwoven fabrics excellent in softness and lint freeness.
