Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sponge roller having high durability and excellent surface smoothness; a method for manufacturing the same; and an image forming apparatus including the sponge roller.SOLUTION: The sponge roller includes a shaft body and an elastic layer formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body. The elastic layer formed by heating a mixture including azobis isobutyronitrile having an average particle size of 25-45 μm and millable type silicone rubber previously heated includes a cell having an average cell size of 50-150 μm. The method for manufacturing the sponge roller comprises: mixing the millable type silicone rubber previously heated with the azobis isobutyronitrile to prepare a mixture; and extruding the mixture on the outer surface of the shaft body; and heating and curing the molding. The image forming apparatus is formed by incorporating the sponge roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
