Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain treadmill for training having impact absorbent running surface by installing an elastic member in order to hold a deck positioned underneath the belting. CONSTITUTION: Belt 20 is wound in a loop around pulleys 22 and 28 around which it moves and forms the upper and lower running parts of the belt. A deck 50 is supported by an array of an elastic member 100 installed on cross bars 60 and 62 and by a set of elastic members 102 installed on cross bars 58 and 64 at each end. Since elastic members 100 and 102 are utilized, the deck 50 can be bent when a step is trodden. Thus, an impact force imposed on a user's legs becomes smaller.
