Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a heavy current electric connector capable of being speedily connected and disconnected. CONSTITUTION: An electric connector assembly 10 attached on a pin of an AC power generator of an automobile includes a terminal 20 having a fitting end forming a split cylinder sleeve 26. A connector 10 includes a spring clip 22 having a split cylinder sleeve 30 to be filled on a split cylinder sleeve 26 of a terminal 20 to contribute to contact force inwardly of a radial direction of the connector 10. The clip 22 includes a pin engagement part 32 having a through hole for receiving the pin 14 of the AC power generator. This pin engagement part 32 is not orthogonal to axes of the split cylinder sleeves 26, 30, but the part is biased and can be set to an orthogonal position. A pin engagement part 32 is set to that orthogonal position, can be engaged or disengaged, and hole edge areas 40, 42 can be elastically restored toward a state not biased that they grasp the pin 14 of the AC power generator.
