Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a resonance phenomenon in a bouncing or pitching direction from occurring as well as to improve a feeling of driving comfortableness so better, by selecting a spring constant to a separate value at a time when the speed value detected by a car speed sensor accords with a reference speed value in the specified range. CONSTITUTION:A spring constant adjustable spring device 6 consists of an elastic body 7, surrounding an interval between a car body and a shock absorber 5 free of expansion in vertical directions and forming an air chamber A inside, an auxiliary tank 8 forming an auxiliary air chamber B of fixed capacity inside, and a selector valve 10 opening or closing a pipe line 9 interconnecting these chambers A and B. A reference speed value to be calculated out of a suspension structure of a car is compared with the speed value V detected by a car speed sensor 11 at the time of driving, and when both values accord with each other, it is judged as a resonance state in a bounding or pitching direction by what rear wheels run past the passing course of front wheels whereby the valve 10 is selected and a spring constant is altered.
